Indsæt evt. følgende i din .emacs:

  (setenv "CXX" "g++-2.95")

En emacs der er startet i et miljø hvor CXX er sat vil dog arve denne
automatisk.

Det vil dog ofte ikke være tilfældet hvis man sætter det i sin .bashrc
eller lignende og man starter sin emacs fra det grafiske miljø da fx
Gnome ikke er startet fra en bash og derfor ikke har læst
erklæringerne til denne.

Jeg har selv gjort det at jeg har indsat nedenstående i min ~/.gnomerc
(jeg bruger Gnome og zsh som shell):

  STARTUP="/bin/zsh -l -i -exec $STARTUP"
