Hvad står der i /var/log/httpd/error_log ?

Det burde ikke betyde noget som helst. Du kan nok få
"http://localhost"; til at virke, hvis du tilføjer "localhost" med IP
adressen 127.0.0.1 til /etc/hosts

Hvilken distribution bruger du ? Det er lidt underligt at du
overhovedet har brug for at rode med Apache konfigurationen - de
distributioner jeg har set har en default konfiguration, hvor netop
/home/httpd/html er sat op som et offentlig tilgængeligt web-område.

Prøvede du om det virkede inden du begyndte at pille ved
konfigurationen ?
