Med MAC adressen mente jeg Media Access Control address (og ikke appels
computere ;-) ).

Hvis du kører kommandoen
/sbin/ifconfig eth0|grep HWaddr
hvad siger den så MAC adressen er for dit netkort ?

Hvorfor ikke ?
Hvis du f.eks. skriver
export PS1="sslug@sslug \W]\$"
så bliver din prompt til noget a la:
sslug@sslug mappenavn]$
hvis du så gemmer export linjen i din .bashrc, så vil denne rettelse ske
hvergang du åbner en interaktiv shell. Ellers kan du gemme den i
.bash_profil og det sker kun under initialisering af din profil.
