Hmmm - den er virkelig syg, hva' ??

Har du kørt

sudo apt-get update

efter at du har tilføjet linierne med stable i din /ec/apt/sources.list ??

Kører du eventuel med an oldnordisk version af dpkg ??

Check ved at skrive

apt-check policy dpkg

som burde give dig de mulige versioner, men den installerede mærket med
et stjerne


Eventuel installer en nyere version først - hvis du ikke kan med apt-get
på grund af de andre fejl, kan du altid med

sudo  dpkg -i dpkg...blabla.deb, 
hvor du har hentet debian pakke filen fra
debians server manuelt (og dennes dependencies!!!)


Sidste udvej: åbne /var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 420 package 
med enditor og se om der er noget mystisk newline i den i nærheden af gdb 
som den påstår. Hvis du kan finde noget, der ikke k'ligner de andre
entries, kan du jo manuelt udbedre det (gem filen først!)

Og nej, jeg har aldrig selv stødt ind i den mængde rod på en debian som
du - det  plejer at være total smertefrit at opdatere.

Bortset fra mine første pakker jeg havde skrevet til hjemmebrug - det var
noget værre rod, men dem fnder du ikke på en debian mirror... ;-)
