Ovenståede erUTF-8 (2 byte koder til æøåÆØÅ-..) for gør jeg
følgende:

 echo "æøåÆØÅäëü" | recode iso8859-1..utf-8 | hexdump -C
00000000  c3 a6 c3 b8 c3 a5 c3 86  c3 98 c3 85 c3 a4 c3 ab  |æøåÃ.Ã.Ã.äë|
00000010  c3 bc 0a 

dvs jeg får  konvereret mit latin1 til UTF-8.

Problemet er sikkert at dosemu ikke kender til flerbyte tegnsæt som UTF8.

Mon det ikke er de berygtede UTF-8 opsætninger der ødelægger alt ?
(mere korrekt ødelægger alle programmer som ikke er lavet til UTF-8
 som f.eks. DOS/dosemu)

I debian vælger jeg i locale-opsætning kun de tegnsæt jeg ønsker
og bruger normalt iso-8859-1 (eller iso8859-15)
Jeg har ikke prøvet ubuntu, men den minder om debian, så det vil
undre mig hvis dosemu også driller,men måske ubuntu som standard
vælger utf-8 ?

Hvilke værdier har variablene LANG, LANGUAGE, LC_CTYPE, LC_ALL mfl ?
(brug echo $LANG osv.)
