Min seneste installation virkede ok med først Ubuntu-linux/AMD64 ( /dev/sda1),
så WindowsXP (/dev/sdb2) , jeg bad dog ubuntu oprette partitionen til XP
før XP blev installeret. Efter installation af windowsXP skal man dog 
igen installere linux/grub i MBR (boot sektor)  så Linux igen kan starte, 
da XP har  "overtaget" MBR :(
Så lettest for de fleste nybgeyndere er nok at installere Windows XP først og 
derefter Linux. 

Senere installarede jeg også ubuntu/i386 og debian/testing (dvs. 1 stk XP og 
3 stk linux på hver sin partition), og så fik jeg  lidt problemer med boot 
af XP som kun kom halvvejs i opstar. Det blev dog løst med fixboot mv., se også

(OBS læs advarsel i ovenstående hvis man bruger disk manager/overlay programmer
 som ezbios, ontrack mfl., det vil sandsynligvis give problemer!)

Derudover rettede jeg  grub's opsætning  /boot/grub/menu.lst til:
#(tilpas hd0,1 til aktuel partition (hd0,1 = /dev/sda2 hos mig)
title           Windows NT/2000/XP
root            (hd0,1)
rootnoverify
makeactive
chainloader     +1
