Jeg har også lige hentet certifikatet ned.

Problemet er at den DER-fil som placeres i $HOME/.nemid, kun indeholder
certifikat/public-key delen, og derfor mangler private-key'en som skal
bruges for at kunne komme nogen vegne.

På NemID's hjemmeside har de en vejledning i brugen af NemID med
Thunderbird 3 på Ubuntu:

Om filen "libNemID_PKCS11.so.1.0.0" der bruges til Thunderbird, kan
benyttes på en eller anden måde i andre mailklienter har jeg ingen
anelse om.
