Prøv en af:
A) installer forwaring/caching DNS på din server,
   så er der kun DNS request første gang DNS startes,
   og så ved nye opslag.
B) hav to udgaver af /etc/resolv.conf :
    resolv.conf.isp og resolf.conf.offline
   og så i ip-up :

     ln -sf /etc/resolv.conf.isp /etc/resolv.conf

   og i ip-down:

     ln -sf /etc/resolv.conf.offline /etc/resolv.conf

Selv anvender jeg A . Udover Bind/named er der et par
andre caching DNS servere som måske er bedre egnet 
(har ikke selv prøvet dem)
