~/.rhosts opretter du blot, med f.eks.: 

theo.ftn frank 

Så kan bruger frank fra "theo.ftn" logge på den aktuelle bruger
med rlogin uden password. Ligeledes virker rcp og rsh.

Vær opmærksom på at dette KUN bør foretages på et sikkert lokalnetværk.
Ellers bør man se på ssh.

Der skal muligvis også tilføjes de ønskede maskiner/net i
/etc/hosts.allow for at det virker.

       /etc/hosts.equiv  -  list  of  hosts  and  users  that are
       granted "trusted" r command access to your system

DESCRIPTION
       The hosts.equiv file allows or denies hosts and  users  to
       use  the r-commands (e.g. rlogin, rsh or rcp) without sup­
       plying a password.

       The file uses the following format:

       [ + | - ] [hostname] [username]
