Hvis du har en fysisk fejl på harddisken i det område som var afsat til
den oprindelige /var, og en af de systemkritiske filer (fx. i /var/lock)
er ødelagt, så ville det forklare den opførsel.

Noget helt andet er, at det forekommer mig lidt omstændeligt først at
opdele harddisken i fem partitioner og derefter lægge dem sammen i et
RAID. Går disken ned, ryger det hele, så den sikkerhed RAID skulle give
er ret begrænset i din løsning.
