Tak for alle de gode råd. Jeg har prøvet at ændre manuelt i xorg.conf

men uha da, den gik helt i sort og jeg måtte via nano rette bak filen
til xorg.conf igen.

Et uddrag af filen som jeg tror har med problemet at gøre er herunder.
Jeg rettede
DefaultDepth fra 24 til 1
og
SubSection "Display"
	Depth 1
	Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400"
"640x480"

rettede jeg til

SubSection "Display"
	Depth 1
	Modes "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"

Uddrag af filen er her

Section "Screen"
	Identifier	"Default Screen"
	Device "Generic Video Card"
	Monitor "LM-500"
	DefaultDepth	24
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 1
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 4
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 8
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 15
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 16
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
	SubSection "Display"
		Depth 24
		Modes "1600x1200" "andre tal" "1024x768" "832x624" "800x600"
"720x400" "640x480"
	EndSubSection
EndSection

Hvor er det præcist jeg skal rette?
